My second Christmas cake - this event is pretty much a big deal in my cake world 
This one didn't exactly abide by the rules of 'less is more' and isn't really in my usual style either, but my mum wanted the traditional santa and snow scene and I wanted some more contemporary themes so it all mishmashed in together - and if you can't go overboard at Christmas when can you?
Standard fruit cake covered in marzipan and royal icing, decorated with royal icing snowflakes and 'filigree' design, and blue dusting powder.
Incidentally, I also repainted santa and the little house in acrylics because they were looking quite old and battered
